Hawker Review: NSquared Barbeque @ Timbre+ (One North) - Fall-off-the-bone Thai-Style Pork Ribs

Timbre+ 26/07/19

Came here after a very filling meal at Amoy Street Food Centre. Huge diversity of food here with a fantastic casual and relaxing atmosphere. Recently renovated about 2-3 years back, the environment is modernised in terms of its layout, cleanliness and tray management system ($1 deposit that will only be returned when one returns their tray), but at the same time very retro in design, making use of colourful shipping containers sprayed with graffiti for its decor.
I had and still have quite a number of stalls that I want to try from (With a few dishes from each stall) but alas, my body is not able to stomach so much food (yet). And so, went for 2 dishes based on my meat cravings on that day.
Note: Food I ate at Gubak Kia has been shifted to this review

NSquared Barbeque

From other online reviews, they are known for their pork belly burnt ends

Right beside Gubak Kia, I saw this stall. Initially, I didn't intend on ordering anything from here actually due to previous reviews I read as well. But as mentioned, was feeling particularly carnivorous that day and coincidentally, they were serving up half-rack and full-rack BBQ pork ribs, so of course... I had to get it.

Thai inspired Barbeque Pork Ribs; Half-rack ($9.90)

Fall-off-the-bone tender meat; You can break it apart using a fork
The Thai glaze was what you would expect - Sweet, Slightly tangy and just a tad bit spicy
This tastes exactly how you think it would. I have tried Morganfield's ribs before (Both the fattier spare ribs and leaner more tender baby back ribs), and felt that the cut used was somewhere in-between which was great as there was a nice balance of fat and meat. Didn't think there was anything wrong with the meat but you should definitely order some sides to complement the meat or it may get too rich after awhile.
Price: 9/10 (Restaurant quality meat at half its price)
Taste: 9/10 (Didn't think there was anything wrong with the dish)
Overall: 9/10
